Chang-Yeon Cho
MANAGING PARTNER, DESIGN INTELLIGENCECo-founder of Synthetic Studio, previously, co-founder and computational analytics leader of Gensler’s Intelligent Places practice, Chang is a computational design leader and noted researcher and innovator. Over the past 5 years, he developed original technology, algorithms, and spatial/behavioral computing methods to help global corporate clients develop their next generation design strategy. Before that he led computational methods development for Gensler’s NE region. A licensed architect and trained engineer from University of Michigan, Chang is a practicing designer with 15 years’ experience and large-scale, high profile commissions in the US, Europe and Asia. He teaches and publishes on the future of design and computation.
Richard Tyson
MANAGING PARTNER, DESIGN STRATEGYCo-founder of Synthetic Studio, Richard was most recently co-founder and director of Gensler’s Intelligent Places practice. Richard is a proven innovation executive with 20 years of experience focusing on digital and business transformation, computational design strategy, and original research and teaching in systems design thinking in the public and private sectors. Richard has led innovation and intelligence strategy programs for some of the world’s most demanding companies including Google, Under Armour, IBM, Starbucks, and Adidas. Passionate about human-centered approaches to computation and evolutionary design thinking that empower cities, communities, and next-generation enterprises.
